Validate Risk vs Equity (Stops)
When enabled, this rule checks whether existing stop-based risk plus the candidate trade’s stop-based risk fits within a percentage of account equity.
The Buffer % is the percentage of equity allowed for risk up to the stops:
risk_budget_cash = equity * (buffer_pct_display / 100)combined_stop_risk = existing_stop_risk + candidate_stop_risk- The operation is blocked when
combined_stop_risk > risk_budget_cash.
For equity of 10,000 and Buffer set to 2, the budget is 200. Existing stop risk of 150 plus candidate risk of 60 totals 210, so the operation is blocked.
Buffer is not a discount applied to another limit or a broker margin allowance. An enabled Buffer of 0 means a zero stop-risk budget. Disable the rule to skip it.
This rule requires a valid stop for the candidate, including in Qty or manual mode, plus the equity and existing stop-risk data needed for evaluation. Monetary values must use compatible currencies; different instrument and account currencies require explicit conversion data, with no implicit FX conversion.
Missing required data is Pending/Warning and prevents submission. It is not a confirmed violation and does not latch the circuit breaker. See Risk Gate Summary.
